Will UBS - UNION BANK OF SWITZERLAND overthrow GMC and/or FMC ?
Rumors are abound in the auto industry that swiss banking giant UBS - UNION BANK OF SWITZERLAND is contemplating a corporate overthrow of GMC - GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION and possible an overthrow of FMC - FORD MOTOR COMPANY at the same time. These rumors are considered just that "RUMORS" and nothing more. For one thing UBS would be required to seek and obtain permission from the United State government prior to that type of corporate action. And, laws do exist in the United States that might prohibit the buy-in, buyout, and/or corporate overthrow of GMC and/or FMC. Swiss law does allow UBS to overthrow any corporation worldwide and/or in Switzerland.
It is believed that such an overthrow would give UBS buying power at bargain basement prices, do to the fact that the stock market prices of the stock of both companies GMC and FMC are at very low prices. There is one problem, however, and that is that, if, UBS goes through with the takeover that they would become responsible for any losses (or debts) of or by both companies. Under current US law a foreign corporation can not gain financially if there was a government bailout of either company. Such a government bailout is in the works.
UBS does finance, purchase, and hold ownership in a number of US based corporations. Do to SWISS BANK SECRECY LAWS we can not disclose the identities of such corporations in the United States, that are partially or 100% owned by the Swiss banking giant UBS.
The question is "Does UBS have plans to seize control and ownership of GMC and/or FMC? If, we confirm these rumors we will publish a special report on the corporate actions.
